Finally!!!

It's been kinda of a crappy week. Kidney stones have been back for me since around Valentines Day. Lucky me. I've just decided that next year, when I get my new calendar, I'm ripping out February. This is the 3rd consecutive year that I've had kidney stones in February. This is getting really OLD!!! But... After 13 years of TRYING to fit Florida into a vacation, we finally just BOOKED it!!! We are taking Spring Break and going to DESTIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We can't wait, I'm not sure which one of us is more excited. All Krennan can talk about is the beach, Kaleaha is talking about the ocean and Ron and I are just excited to get to go. Friday (March 1st) is National Employee Appreciation Day, at our branch, Dorvan decided to buy pizza for all of us. He's the best. I bought Sonic and we had a feast! Love our little branch! It also happened to be picture day at Bonneville. Kaleaha talked Mamom into fixing her hair for the day.

Cheer Clinic

Flame sponsored a Cheer Clinic and Kaleaha wanted to go. I didn't stay for the whole event but Kaleaha had Coach Mike show us one of the tricks that she learned.

Head Phones!

During all of these gymnastics meets, we take the iPad so that Krennan can watch movies. We have been taking Kaleaha's headphones for him to use and he won't hardly watch movies because he doesn't like her headphones. In his defense, they don't really fit him all that well because we haven't been able to find any in his size for an affordable price. Finally, tonight at Walmart, we found some that we thought would fit him. Looks like we were successful!! And since he was SO good at Walmart, can I PLEASE (PRETTY PLEASE WITH DRAGONBERRIES ON TOP) have a cool toy???

Happy Wednesday

We started out our day by going to Breakfast for Mom's at Bonneville. A good time to spend with just me and Kaleaha. After I got to work, Ron sent me a picture of Krennan doing his gymnastics. Then while gymnastics was going on it started snowing like crazy. Here's my view from work and Krennan's reaction after the gym.

President's Day

Getting ready to leave the house this morning and the kids were the last 2 in the shower. Turns out they were having a little too much fun with the shaving cream. While I was off work, Kay wanted us to go and look for Easter clothes for the kids at JCPenney's. We had Kaleaha try on a few dresses but her favorite find was a black "rubber" jacket. Krennan liked it too, it was there for him to be a ROCKSTAR!

Cabot Meet

This meet started out a lot better than the last one. We decided to stay after the meet in Little Rock, THANK GOODNESS! The meet was running almost 2 hours behind schedule. Krennan was already tired and cranky when we got there so he was a little bit of a challenge but Kaleaha had an amazing meet. We are so proud of all of her hard work! Vault-4th place Bars-1st place Beam-1st place Floor-4th place All Around-1st PLACE!! She was also 3rd among ALL of the Flame Level 5 girls. So proud of her! Level 5 girls also received 1st place for Team awards! After the meet we went to eat at Johnny Carino's with the Stillman's and spent the night at the Crowne Plaza in Little Rock. The next morning, we got up and swam in the Indoor/Outdoor pool and then decided to meet at IHOP for breakfast. The girls always want to eat together and after today, I can't figure out why...

Valentines Day

I think I mentioned that we've been cooking more at home lately. So, when Krennan asked for toast for breakfast, here's what he got...

Dad's hard week

Ron's schedule flip flopped this week and he worked Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday instead of his normal schedule. On Wednesday night after Ron got home with Kaleaha from church Krennan decided that "boys need to put boys to bed". Mom's only put little girls to bed these days. That worked out well for me because I was tired and Kaleaha was already asleep. About 15 minutes after Ron was supposedly putting Krennan to bed, Little Guy came walking down the hall and crawled up into bed with me. I asked him where Daddy was and he said, I already put him to sleep in my bed. REALLY! I couldn't believe that Ron was actually asleep in Krennan's toddler bed, so I walked down to his room to check out the story... And this is why Mommy's are back to putting little boys to bed at night...

Date Night

We don't take the time very often to go on dates but tonight we took advantage of Mom's generosity and went to see Skyfall...again!! One of my favorite Bond movies ever!

One year

It's so hard to believe that a year has gone by without him. Seems like so much longer than that. I'm grateful for the years that I was able to have with him and the relationship that my family had with him as well. He is an amazing man.

My sweet little biter

It's only Tuesday and I've already gotten 2 calls from the Preschool Director of Krennan's school. On Monday, he bit someone because he "wanted to be a werewolf". On Tuesday, he bit another child supposedly because the little boy asked him to. Not sure if that's actually true, but that's the story that made it home. Then we went out to eat with Mom and this is what I see. How can this sweet little face be a BITER???? Hopefully, he'll grow out of this phase soon!

Sonshine Invitational-Conway

Great competition again today in spite of a shaky start. Kaleaha didn't feel well going to the meet. We actually were almost late because we weren't sure that she was even going to be able to compete, but she gathered her strength and focused on the meet and kicked butt! Vault 8.40 4th place Bars 9.05 3rd place Beam 9.15 2nd place Floor 8.75 2nd place All Around 35.35 2nd place She did awesome!! We are so proud! After the meet 18 of us went to US Pizza. Fun times with good friends!

Safety Dinner

We got to have a dinner hosted by Kraft to honor all of the safety award recipients for 2012. Met some nice people and had a great meal!

Hotel Transylvania

We have seen the movie Hotel Transylvania a few times. Ashley and I have been talking about getting together and taking the kids again. It finally came to the dollar theater so the four of us met Ashley and her mom. We love this movie!

A Saturday in the Life

I've finally broken down and decided that I absolutely have to start cooking more.
I've never liked lasagna until Kay made it for me. I'm still picky and only like hers to this day. She's been telling me how easy it is to make for a long time so I finally decided to tackle that beast tonight.
Doesn't look too bad for my first attempt. Tasted pretty good too!

Promotion

Yankee Doodle Dandy Meet

Our annual Pine Bluff meet. For the first time Daddy and Krennan got to go with us. We stayed at Kaleaha's favorite hotel, Hampton Inn. About half of our team was there so the girls got to play in the pool together before bed. Kaleaha competed well against some great competition. Vault 8.350 6th place Bars 8.90 1st place Beam 8.55 6th place Floor 8.45 7th place All Around 34.25 5th place She had a great meet and then we went to PF Chang's in Little Rock with the Stillman's.

Hurricane Simulator

Our little Krennan doesn't forget anything. We didn't get to do the Hurricane Simulator in Branson last week. Ron promised him that next time we went to the mall, he could do it there. We walked by the machine and he very stubbornly waited until we produced enough cash for him to go! None of us wanted to go with him so he snagged a random teenager to participate!

New Years Eve

Monday was New Year’s Eve. Flame had decided to have a Lock-In for the gymnasts. Kaleaha has been bugging us to go for a few weeks and I’m just really not a fan of things like that. Ron and I talked it over and decided to let her try it. He agreed to go pick her up when it was over at 7:00 am. Mom and Aunt Jean had decided to go and visit a cousin that they had not seen in many years in Bartlesville, OK. They intended to just be gone a few hours and ended up being gone all day. On my way home from work I picked up Papa Murphy’s Pizza. I got Mini-Murph kits for the kids to make their own pizzas. They enjoyed doing that and watching them bake. Kaleaha ate and hurried Ron through his dinner so that she could get to the gym early. You would think she would get tired of that place, but I guess not. Krennan found the New Years hat that Ashley had gotten him and modeled it for me. After Ron and Sis left, little guy and I cuddled up and watched some cartoons. When Ron got home (with Sonic!!!) we put in a movie for Krennan. I LOVE cuddle time with my sweet little boy! He’s so precious. I miss cuddling with my sweet little girl; she seems to have outgrown most of that. It’s so sad when they grow up! Krennan fell asleep about 8:00 pm and Ron and I watched a grown up movie. (Quantum of Solace) After the movie, he ended up fixing the washer that has had a very loud noise for the last 2 weeks. It turned out to be a gold dollar that had fallen behind the basket. YAY! A quiet washer again, finally!! We toasted the New Year with Sparkling Cider and went to bed very shortly after that. I’m really looking forward to a better year in 2013. Somehow, I don’t think it can be much worse than this year has been for our family.
