The Fair-Round 2

It worked out that we get to go back to the fair after all. Flame Level 5 girls are doing an exhibition at the Dr. Pepper stage on Saturday. It was at 10:00 in the morning and they performed for an hour.
The fair was not crowded at all at that time of the day, so most of the team got to run around and ride all the rides with no lines. The parents split the kids up and some went with each group. Sarah Stillman and I took Mason and Krennan to ride rides. Ron went with Spencer Stillman and Eric Eddins and they took Kaleaha, Emma and Sadie all over the bigger rides. We had a great time. I LOVE the Fair!!!!!!!!!

Starburst Award

We had been running some errands before picking up Kaleaha from gymnastics tonight so we were cutting it pretty close to time for it to be over. We arrived at Flame and I sent Ron in to pick her up instead of all of us going in. They were taking a while and I’m stressing over the fact that I knew I needed to have the kids in bed to be able to get up for school in the morning. Finally, they come out and I see that Kaleaha has something in her hand. She won the “Starburst Award”. It was for performance on the beam. She was very surprised and super excited.

I have an Activity Day Girl!

Because she turned 8, now Kaleaha gets to attend Activity Day girls on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday’s of the Month. It just worked out this time that she could go the week after her birthday. She had a great time and I think the part that she enjoyed the most is the fact that she’s at church with the big kids!

Ron's New Sonata and The Fair-Round 1

September 22nd – Well, since we’ve had my new Sonata, Ron has been very jealous! He is suddenly not liking the Vibe all that much so we agreed that if he could find a new Sonata for a comparable payment to his Vibe, then we could look into getting him a new car also. Mr Research went to work. He narrowed it down to 3 choices and then started working with Mario to work out the deal of the century! He ended up choosing a 2011 Sonata that was FULLY loaded. It’s awesome. He’s very stingy with it thought. Cracks me up! So, now we have matching cars. His is a dark blue/purple color. Gorgeous! It’s a sport model so it drives a little different from mine, but it’s super fun!
We came home and took the kids to the Fair. I was a little bit leery of taking them out there on a Saturday night, but the Razorbacks were playing and it ended up being the perfect night. The weather was perfect and it wasn’t crowded at all. Both kids loved all the rides and of course, the fair food! That makes it all worthwhile. I don’t think we’ll get to go back this year because Kaleaha’s old enough to go to church on Wednesday’s and that is usually the night that we go as a family. We’ll just have to see how things go!

Kaleaha is 8!!!

I can’t believe it. Seems like this day would never get here and I blinked once and here it is! She looks beautiful in her all white dress. We had a great crowd that came out to celebrate with her and we are very grateful for all those that made an effort to participate in this event. We are SO proud of her. Kind of a sad day too, it was the first major event that my Dad hasn’t been available for. I wanted so much to see him in her circle. I know he was there in spirit, but it just wasn’t the same.

Rotarian of the Day

September 13th – I was the Rotarian of the Day today and I had set up a program with the Reynolds Cancer Support House. Martha Pendleton is the director at RCSH and she came and spoke to the club and told us a little bit about the services that they offer us. I was amazed. I wish that I had known about some of the programs while Dad was sick. Mom could have used the support from RCSH and the other spouses and families.

Getting ready for the big day

September 12th – I can’t believe that it’s already time for Kaleaha to be baptized. She had her interview with Bishop/President Martin today. He told us what a beautiful young lady she is and how touched he was by her spirit.

Krennan sick

We noticed on Monday that Krennan wasn't acting quite like himself. A little too grumpy and quick to cry over every little thing. We sent him back to school on Tuesday and he did OK, but on Wednesday his fever was pretty high. Ron said he was crying for me, so I came home from work and cuddled with him so Ron could pick Kaleaha up from school and take her to gymnastics. I hate it when the kids are sick, but its the only time they slow down enough to cuddle with me!
We just cuddled that afternoon, but he was still running a fever the next morning so we took Kaleaha to school and I called and got an appointment with the doctor for Krennan.
After a few days of antibiotics. He was back to his normal self!

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day weekend we decided to take the kids to the Tulsa Zoo and Aquarium. Ron and I had taken Kaleaha when she was younger, but I don’t think that Krennan has ever been. Other than the heat, we had a great day.
We rode the train and got cotton candy and walked around for hours.
The kids and I rode a real camel.
By the end of the day, we were all ready to get back to the hotel where it was cooler and swim! The next morning was when we went to the Jenks Aquarium. I hadn't ever been to that one. It was amazing!
After the Aquarium, we ate at Zio's and headed home. Good quality family time.
